The Modernist Movement in Europe began at the beginning of the 20th century. Between 20th and 50th, the most famous modernist buildings were created by leading architects of the world. Sanatorium Zonnestraal Hilversum Building in the Netherlands is one of the most famous modernist monuments built in the 20th century.
The Sanatorium Zo
nnestraal Hilversum Building is a great example for buying a dessertatio
n about modernist movement and modernist style. Masters dissertation writing won’t be enough to describe the innovations in the structure of these buildings. The most important thing that should be mentioned about this building is that it is included into the list of the most important World Heritages protected by UNESCO.
The intention of the architects (Jan Duiker , Bernard Bijvoet, and Jan Gerko Wiebenga) was to create a building that would satisfy practical and esthetical needs of modern people. The construction of the new health center was aimed at uniting recreational functions and, at the same time, medical ones. The building is designed in a way to let the light in and provide space as much as possible. It is light and not overloaded with furniture (a typical modernist tendency). The atmosphere is calm and relaxing.
Indeed, it is a sanatorium of a new millennium in all aspect. First of all, it is innovative in terms of the style and construction, second, it is innovative in terms of the functions which it is aimed to perform, and third, it is a new type of the healthcare center.
Excited!
